No passado Domingo a equipa senior recebeu o G.D.Viso, e tinha como objectivo a primeira vitória no campeonato, mas cedo se percebeu que iria ser dificil, com o G.D.Viso a adiantar-se no marcador e chegando a um confortavél 0-3. A equipa nunca se encontrou e raramente conseguiu chegar aos niveis de concentração demonstrados nos dois jogs anteriores que apesar dos resultados acabava por ter uma boa prestação.

O LC conseguiu marcar de CC através do jovem Senior Thomas Machado, selando assim o primeiro golo em apenas duas aparencias na equipa senior, lutando assim pelo lugar que começa a provar que é seu. Mas o G.D.Viso sempre calmo conseguiu ainda marcar mais um golo de CC fechando as contas do jogo em 1-4.

Este jogo serviu para por os pés na terra e as mãos na consciencia, e ter humildade suficiente para trabalhar mais e mais.

Espera-nos duas jornadas muito dificeis onde vmaos defrontar os fortissimos ACP e ADL ambos candidatos ao titulo.

The season has begun, although not in the best way: the Men lost 2-7 against Futebol Benfica, but the score does not reflect what happened on the pitch.

In the first half the young LCHC team played very well, despite conceding an early goal; they kept CFB away from their goal and got an equalizer by João Ralha.

When LCHC tried for a second goal, their opponents used some strong counter attacks to force a penalty stroke: but Gonçalo Brito kept the score at 1-1 with a tremendous save. Close to half time CFB got their 2^nd goal, again with a fast counter attack.

The second half started exactly the same as the first, with strong defending by LCHC, always looking to push up to score the equalizer, when the unthinkable happened… from the 49^th  to the 60^th minute, CFB managed to score 5 goals against a completely broken LCHC.

LCHC pulled together one more time and put their ideas in place to dominate the rest of the game, getting the 2^nd  goal – again by João Ralha. We paid heavily for the lack of experience of our young team. But there is still a long championship ahead.

Lisbon Casuals Vets Squad set off for Ourense at lunchtime on Friday 11th September to play in the 10^th Anniversary Ourense Vets (Mens) Tournament. After a leisurely stroll around the city on the Friday night until the early hours stopping off at local watering holes to assimilate the local culture your team got down to business early the next morning but were caught cold by the boys from Bremen. Being pitted against the home team and holders in the next game was a tall order but we had spotted Hamburg as being the team we could get a result.

Despite dominating the next game against Hamburg we were narrowly defeated 1-0. After 3 games of 35 minutes and constant refreshment throughout the day our last game of the day against Sport could have been a disaster but a change in team formation and tactics enabled us to hold out for most of the game only to be narrowly defeated.

Our hosts put on a memorable banquet that evening and your team behaved very well at least until 12 of the 13 had already left the restaurant. To our surprise despite another late night in the city we were not the last to be tucked in bed with a number of nationalities still roaming the streets at dawn.

The effects of all this revelry became very evident in the Sunday morning games as the standard of play plummeted but your team maintained a consistent standard throughout and almost squeezed a draw against the highly fancied Vigo team. After receiving our prize for being 6^th a sumptuous Galician lunch was enjoyed by all before the long trek back to Lisbon.

Special recognition to Jerry for exhibiting strong leadership skills on the field, James for his extrovert behavior off the field, the Belem boys for holding their tongues, Kai for spending most of his time with Bremen and Hamburg and last but not least for João Miguel in completing his first Vets tour by keeping the up with pace.
